Homemade Vanilla Chai Mix

THIS HOMEMADE VANILLA CHAI MIX IS AN EASY WAY TO ENJOY YOUR FAVORITE LATTE RIGHT AT HOME! JUST ADD STEAMED OR HOT MILK!

Do you ever crave a sweet seasonal drink that’s not hot cocoa? Maybe you’re looking for something lighter to sip on, something with holiday spice, or something that’s just a little different. Well, a steaming mug of this spiced Vanilla Chai drink totally fits the bill!

This recipe makes a batch of a powdered mix that’s easy to prepare, share, and store. Just whisk a few tablespoons of the mix with hot milk, and get ready to enjoy a mugful of seasonal goodness!

In this recipe, tea is blended with powdered vanilla creamer for a rich, smooth taste. Dashes of cardamom, white pepper, cinnamon, ginger, and clove combine for a warm seasonal spice that hits the spot on a cold morning.

You can drink Vanilla Chai any time of the day! Prepare it with caffeinated tea to give it a slight energy boost that’s more mild than coffee, or choose to keep it decaf. It’s warm and soothing in the morning and also makes a great afternoon pick-me-up, especially when paired with a biscotti or a slice of banana bread. Sometimes, I like to make a warm mug of this stuff after dinner, when I’m wrapped in a blanket with a good book. Because the powdered mix stores so well, you can make a big batch and keep it on hand for whenever you need it.

Use Vanilla Chai mix and Mason jars to make beautiful hostess gifts and party favours. This way, you won’t have to arrive at the party empty-handed, or worry about guests leaving without a memento! Sharing something special is always a thoughtful way to show your gratitude; because, without a doubt, this will be one of your favourite cold-weather recipes this winter.

Orange Brown Sugar Sweet Tea

#1: Grab the vegetable peeler and an orange and let’s get started.  Hold the orange firmly in one hand and, with the other hand, cut away the orange peel (the very outer, orange skin of the orange).  If you get a little of the white peel, the pith (remind anyone of Ethel Thayer?) it isn’t a big deal. #2: “Muddling”.  All it means, in this instance, is to mash an orange slice into the tea.  Right before serving the tea, place one half of an orange slice in the bottom of each glass and muddle, or mash, the orange to release the juice and oils.  Since I don’t own a muddler, I use the rounded end of my wooden spoon.  Muddle with slight force; just a couple of pushes and twists should be enough. EARL GREY TEA LATTE

pic courtesy - COOK NOURISH BLISS INGREDIENTS: 1 earl grey tea bag ¾ cup boiling water ¾ cup milk ½ to 1 tablespoon vanilla syrup, depending on desired sweetness* sprinkle of cinnamon DIRECTIONS: Add the tea bag to a mug and pour in the boiling water. Let steep for about 2 to 3 minutes. Remove the tea bag. Meanwhile, add the milk to a small saucepan set over medium heat. Heat until just steaming (do not let the milk boil). Alternatively, you can heat the milk in the microwave. Add the milk to the mug and stir in the vanilla syrup. Top with a sprinkle of cinnamon and enjoy. If desired, you can whisk the steamed milk until very frothy before pouring it into the mug (or use a milk frother). I just prefer these lattes without the foam. *If you do not have vanilla syrup, you can substitute a teaspoon or so of regular granulated sugar and a splash of vanilla extract. Adjust the quantities to your own taste. Source - Cook Nourish Bliss ...

Cinnamon Rose Tea + Honey & Milk

Herbal teas are a penchant of mine and this winter I’ve been drinking a lot of this Cinnamon Rose tea, always with a splash of coconut milk and honey! It’s comforting and warming and I especially like a cup at night after the kids have gone to bed. I’ve used ground cinnamon in this recipe as it is easier to use for single servings, but go ahead and use cinnamon sticks, if you like. Especially if you are brewing up a large batch. If you do use the ground cinnamon, you may find it beneficial to strain the tea through a nut milk bag or cloth before drinking to keep the finer granules out.
